One of the questions I see asked the most in internet marketing circles is: how can I get more followers on Twitter ? Most people now know about the benefits of being on Twitter from a business perspective, however many are still unsure as to how to REALLY go about it. A typical problem is not having enough followers. Here how to fast get more and grow your following:
1.Retweet other peoples posts
This is a great strategy and can work really well. Find Tweets made by other users that you found useful, interesting and relevant and then re-tweet to your own followers. Not only will you be sending an interesting Tweet to your own followers, you’ll be building a relationship with the person who made the original Tweet. People love it when you re-tweet something they posted as it provides great exposure for themselves.
2.Ask and answer questions
You will often see people asking questions in their Tweets. This can be everyday things such as ‘what are you up to today?’ or maybe someone is asking for advice – ‘what’s the best way to….?’ By answering peoples questions and asking some of your own, you’ll build up interaction and relationships with other users. Always remember that Twitter is a two-way conversation – not merely a place for you to advertise your business!
3.Find other people in your niche and follow the people who follow them.
If someone is following a particular user then it usually means they are in that market themselves. A great way to get targeted followers, then, is to follow these people. Not everyone will follow you back of course but a significant proportion more than likely will.
4.Post regular tweets
I see many people complaining that they don’t have enough followers, then when you check out their account you discover that the last Tweet the person made was 3 months ago – no wonder they are struggling to get followers! Always make sure that you post to Twitter regularly. Try to post one Tweet a day if you can.
